They call me Feverfew Magic Single, but you can just call me Magic. I’m a classic charmer with an earthy edge, known for my sunny disposition and effortless ability to light up any bouquet. You’ll find me under aliases like Tanacetum parthenium or matricaria, but don’t let that intimidate you—I’m as down-to-earth as they come.

Feverfew is a productive and essential accent flower for bouquets and arrangements in the spring and early summer. I plant different varieties (Magic Single, Tetrawhite, and Vegmo) to get a natural succession - the different varieties bloom approx 5-7 days apart.

    Planting Instructions

    SOWING:

    Transplant: Start seed indoors 8 to 10 weeks before planting out. Likes a cool start so plant out in early spring a few weeks before last frost. 

    Winter hardy to zone 5 and can be planted in the fall to overwinter for spring blooms in regions with winter temperatures above -10℉ (-23℃)

    Germination Requirements: Do not cover, needs light for germination

    Days to Germination: Germinates in 7 to 14 days at 70℉

    GROWING:

    Light Preference: Full Sun

    Plant Height:  30 to 48 inches

    Plant Spacing: 6 to 9 inches for cut flower production

    Pinching: Not necessary

    Flower Support: Yes, netting recommended

    Days to Bloom: 100-110 days

    HARVEST AND VASE LIFE:

    Yield: 4-7 stems per plant

    Harvest Fresh: Harvest when one-quarter to one-half to all of the flowers on a spray are open. Make first central cut almost to ground level, just above the lowest 3 to 4 side shoots. Cut future stems at the base of the stem. Feverfew can make water dirty, even with floral preservative. Add a few drops of bleach to the water to keep it a fresh
